"As an artist I am inspired by nature's many seasons and infinite moods of light, color and form. It is here that paint and canvas come together to renew my soul."
Linda has lived close to the land and nature for over 45 years. She was part of the back to the land movement in the early 70's. In 2018 Linda celebrates 20 years a professional artist! Her work reflects her passion for the wilderness which speaks vibrantly as an advocate for nature. She enjoys painting on site, in all seasons. She also paints wildlife from photographs taken on chance encounters in the wilds.
"Adventure in the Wild " is the spirit behind the inspiration in her paintings. with painting rendezvous in Algonquin, Georgian Bay, Quebec, Arizona and beyond. Closer to home, "The Valley" offers endless inspiration of the local and wild landscape, rivers, lakes and also historic landmarks. In winter months she paints her large vibrant iconic studio canvas's that she has become known for in the Madawaska Valley.
Linda is also a "Wildwomen", one of a dynamic trio of women artists along with Joyce Burkholder and Kathy Haycock. The painters share their wilderness vision and paint together, on site in all seasons. Their book "Wild Women, Painters Of the Wilderness" is available in all three of their studios on the Tour. Many of their paintings are featured as well as dialogue, techniques and insight into their painting process in the book. www.wildwomenartists.ca
